ABSTRACT

The usual representational model for visual recognition is the Bayesian model in wich we use probabilities as a way to establish comparisons amongst alternatives. But the a posteriorinature of these probabilities reduces the range of possible applications of such models.

In this talk we propose a different method for establishing visual recognition. The method is based on a belief system.

Its relation to the information content of degraded images of the same subject are used for testing the method.
